SUBJECT: Insulted at my job
I assumed today would be a faily uneventful day since I knew we had to go Virginia Beach (an hour and forty-five min. drive) to run a cable and then setup a VPN router will the new settings. On our drive home we began discussing what we knew and what we did in school as it relates to our current position. My co-worker (aka trainer) told me that education doesn't matter at my current job. He went on to say that the only people that had an education was him and one other employee. I mentioned that the job description for the position I was filling requested a bachlors degree or an associates degree with several years of experiance. His relpy to this was that he wrote the job description and basically they would hire anyone that could turn on a PC. He continued to inform me that at the salary they are paying you couldn't expect anyone with a "real" education.
