SUBJECT: I can blog again.

I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted anything.  I think it's safe to say I'm not a good blogger so it's now official, I'm going to try and at least get something posted more regularity even if this is more of a diary than a true blog.

June 5th marked my first year with Pella Windows and Doors of Virginia.  I recently took the Nowicki Networks logos of the Explorer as I'm currently content with my job and don't really have time for any extra projects.  In the past year we've meet quite a few friends through work and our off-road club. Unfortunately the club is nearly 2.5 hours away so once a month is a big enough chore.

Too busy for fun.
Melissa and I have been working together to try and find a happy medium between work, home life, and weekends.  We have not been able to get out backpacking since the end of December.  We have went camping twice, not counting the off-road trips.  Camping has been enjoyable but we also need to get out for more fitness activities.  I can certainly tell that my desk-job is not turning me into a stud by any means.  Additionally, backpacking is less stressful and much less expensive.  Currently we are looking toward a trip in July.  Despite July being ridiculously hot, we found a trail at St. Mary's Wilderness area which provides much needed access to water and tree cover for shade.

This past weekend we went to Harbor Fest in Virginia Beach.  It was nice to get out enjoy the day and see some old "tall ships" from all around the world.  We also saw the USS Wisconsin which is on display and in inactive reserve.  On Sunday our friend Josh took us to the Navel base to look at the current aircraft carriers and battle ships.  While neat and big, they were not what I expected, especially after seeing the cruise ship at Harbor Fest.
