Family

I was born in Oshkosh, WI at Mercy Medical Center on October 6, 1979.  My parents are Gerald and Susan Nowicki.   I have two brothers, David and Adam.

On October 28th, 2006 I began a new page in my family history as I  married Melissa S. Shafer who is also from Oshkosh.  We were "hooked-up" by mutual friends on December 17th, 1999.  Melissa and I have dated ever since and on August 15th or 17th (I'd have to double check) of 2005 I asked Melissa to marry me.  Our Wedding was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh on October 28th, 2006.

Hobbies

My hobbies include Legos, computers, off-road driving, and back-packing.  I have collected Legos since my 6th birthday and still will be delighted if I receive Legos as a gift.  The set's that I collect are mostly the Caste, Forest, Pirate, Western, and of course the Model Team.  I have began expanding my series to include Star Wars.  Click here for pictures.

I've enjoyed working on computers, besides playing games, since 7th grade.  There I became a Basic junkie, which then progressed to Q-basic.  In choosing a future, I chose the networking field because communication and the transfer of data fascinates me, and the programming that I have done is tedious and can cause multitude of headaches.  Currently I love to work on the computer in hopes to create my own business working on computers and running internet applications.

National Guard Cadet Program

I joined the National Guard Cadet program in Janurary 1995 and worked my way up the ranks to the rank of Captain.  My positions as a cadet included Company Clerk, First Sergant, and Operations NCO for the State Group.  Upon reaching adulthood I became the Deputy Commander of Operations and briefly the State Executive Officer.

Prior to moving to Virginia I chose to step down from my involvement with the cadet program as I was working on maintaining my slef-business, Nowicki Networks.  Upon moving to Virginia at the end of 2005 I helped coordinate the AirVenture event in Oshkosh.

Boy Scouting

I joined Cub Scouts Pack 107 when I was in second grade.  I moved through the ranks and attained my Arrow of Light.  I then entered into Boy Scouts with Troop 610.  In troop 610 I Earned my Eagle Scout rank by designing and creating 10 knot boards and donating them to area Fire Departments.

While in scouting I worked at Gardner Dam Scout Camp in 1995 as a camp councilor where I taught young scouts life skills they needed to earn merit badges.  I continued in 1996 and in 1997 in became the Trading Post manager.  This past season I was asked back at the last minute because the camp desperately needed a shooting Sports Instructor.  I was sent to the Boy Scout\'s National Camp School where I learned about safe gun handling and earned NRA Instructor certification.
