SUBJECT: Okay, I'm updating this blogy thing

Well since my last post, I figured I'd bring everyone up to speed. On 19 MAY 2006 Pella offered me the IT position. They offered me less than I wanted but more than the minimum. I accepted the offer and will begin working on 5 JUN 2006.

Melissa and I have now been to the ocean... FINALLY. On Sunday we had tentative plans to vist a buddy in DC, but hadn't heard from him and finally found out that he had went back to Wisconsin. I sugested that we head to Virginia Beach and meet up with someone that I had met online through the Explorer Forum. We spent the day walking up and down Atlantic Ave looking at the various shops. Nothing too excicting.

Getting fairly excited about Mom and Dad visting next week. I'll be picking them up from the airport on Saturday and they will be spending a week. After that it'll be off to the "real" work world for me.

Another exciting thing coming up is the 10th anniversary off-road run for our Explorer Board. I was disappointed to find out that the creator of the board is not going to make it to Virginia, as I was really hoping to meet him. The other thing I'm trying to decide is what vehicle to take. My Explorer is setup far better than the Zuk is, however, experience seems to show that even stock the Zuk can out perform the Explorer. Also, I have yet to be on the trails in Crozet so I don't know what the terrain is like. It sounds like it's a lot more rocks and that the rocks will eat you up. I don't want to take the Explorer and damage anything, but I don't know how the Zuk will handle larger rocks. Decisions... decisions...

Speaking of work. Many people have congratulated me and asked me if I was excited about finally landing a full-time job. To be honest, I can't say that I am. Sure, the guarenteed income will be nice to plan for but the lack of freedom and the knowledge of regular income may not make anything more comfortable. Business had been picking up and this will be more of a lateral move for me financially. I'm hoping that I turely enjoy the work I will be doing.

Well, believe it or not, I'm actually getting tired and my eyes are starting to get blurry, I guess that means it's off to bed for me.
