Being a new area, and quite muddy I didn't know what to expect. The first trail
looked great, full of water and very difficult to navigate. This trial
came to a quick end when my crappy small tires decided they had enough and left
me stranded in a rut.

 It
was a whole different experience for me.  Not that I hadn't went down trail
and roads before but that I didn't think this was off-roading.  I was
wishing that I had better tires and a lift so I wouldn't have gotten stuck, and
now all I'm doing is driving through the wood???  This stinks. As we continued down the trail we did come across some beautiful
campsite that overlooked the lakes up there.  Had to do a few hill climbs
and decided to see if an Explorer can be a boat. We got good video footage of the huge water puddles we hit.
The second puddle I thought I was going to be stuck in the middle for sure, but
slowly my X decided to plunge on through. I am completely set on replacing my tires.  I still haven't
decided exactly what size I should go.  I found an
online converter for Tire size and found that
my current tires are 28.9 x 9.3.  As seen on the wish list I'm looking at
the BF Goodrich All-terrains.   After that we went over to the local Boy Scout camp to take some pictures for
my brothers photography project.  We decided to plan another trip rather
than risk rushing out to make another run. We started heading back about 4:00 |
